Pattern Project, la iniciativa de la investigadora Shruti Grover y el analista Simon Johnson, viene a solucionar este problema. Tiene como objetivo hacer ropa DIY pero facilitando el tema del patronaje, sería como montar un mueble de Ikea pero con prendas de vestir.
El lema de Shruti y Simon es "hacer, en lugar de comprar ropa" evitar el consumismo y la moda rápida, con esta iniciativa podremos sentirnos orgullosos de vestir las prendas que nosotros mismos hemos fabricado.
Su kit de lanzamiento se llama P1.1, es una prenda de la parte superior, de lona con cuello de barco en azul o color natural que se puede personalizar pintándolo o con serigrafía. Contiene 4 piezas de tela de algodón y lino orgánizo y 1 hilo reciclado, los trozos de tela están acabados con un borde rosado para evitar que se deshilachen.
Para reducir costes y como el desperdicio de materiales, Pattern Project no tiene stock; los kits se producen a pedido, con un máximo de 150 kits, con un precio de £ 45
